The Joy List: December 30

Hi there, friend!

Our New Yorker of the Week today is... wait for it… a cat named Potato Sack who needs a new home. If you’re interested in learning more about this lil chonk, email Daniela at [email protected].

Is one of your new year’s resolutions to make new connections? Find love? Then you know what to do…fill out this form.

Now, onto the good stuff:

How would someone who loves you describe you?

Hi! I am writing about a very special New Yorker -- my rescue cat, Potato Sack. Potato was born in a Brooklyn cat colony, and was hit by a car when he was very small. A sweet rescuer took him to get care, and he ended up at a shelter from which we adopted him. Now, he's 2 years old, deaf, and 3-legged -- but spunky, friendly, and incredibly cute.

My girlfriend and I love Potato so much but after a year of trying to integrate him with our resident cat (we really tried every possible solution under the sun), we have come to the bittersweet conclusion that he needs a new home where he can be the resident cat. His deafness means he is very tolerant of lots of things that bother other kitties - he's great with kids, if you vacuum around him he'll think you're playing a game, and he doesn't mind if you clatter around your kitchen. He loves belly rubs and will follow you around the house like a puppy. He would do best with someone who works from home/spends a good amount of time at home.

We are in Flatbush but open to connecting with folks in any part of NYC and potentially beyond. If you are interested in adopting a very special boy, please reach out to me at [email protected]! Thank you!

Double check details before you go, and contact the organizers with questions! The Joy List does not run these events. This is a slow events week, so the focus is mostly on every possible flavor of New Year’s Eve!

Ready to start your new year relaxed?

Jillian, The Joy List founder, here. I’m obsessed with spas, and have recently started a love affair with the Flatiron Bathhouse. If you’d like to try it out, use my code to get 30% off your visit. (And selfishly, I then get discounts on my trips, too.)

PS. If you know anyone who runs a spa, I’m happy to be an ambassador 😛

That's it for this edition. Try something new this week, friends!
