Tuesday, February 11: Let's Get Sewcial: DIY Bag Charms!

Get your creative juices flowing as we make our own bag charms from second-hand sewing and beading materials. Slow-Poke Collective will facilitate a discussion around sustainability and crafting, share how to sew a small 3D object, and then we will have time to work on our bag charms while we continue the conversation on slow fashion, crafting, and climate optimism.

No prior sewing experience is necessary - our facilitators will be on hand to answer questions and talk arts & crafts throughout the workshop. After the workshop, you will walk away with the basics of how to thread a needle, how to a sew a small 3d object, your own bag charm, and local recommendations to source second-hand crafting supplies.

Friday, February 14: Pitched Through Friends (The Met Through Friends 1st Birthday Party)

We're turning one! For our birthday, we aren't hosting a traditional dating event: join us for a live show where presenters pitch their amazing single friends to our audience. Think of this less as a dating event and more as a celebration of friendship and love in all of their forms. Whether you come alone, with a friend, or even want to apply to pitch, it's the perfect way to spend Valentine's Day.

Join us for a rejuvenating afternoon to declutter your heart and invite positivity into your life and onto your path by writing letters from your heart by hand. Love Letter Lounge helps you let “go-go-gone” of what doesn't serve you anymore and makes space for new shoots of love and joy to sprout in the garden of your heart. Pen letters of affection, reflection and connection. Letters with addresses will be mailed; unaddressed letters will be ritually released.

Saturday, February 15: Hyggehiking NYC's Date Spots

Hygge hikes are gatherings where we can come together to make new friends, discuss fun projects we're eager to work on, and dive into deep, thoughtful discussions, all while trekking through green spaces throughout our city. On Saturday, we'll explore over two dozen of NYC's most memorable indoor & outdoor date spots. Along the way, we'll have ample opportunities to take dating profile photos, critique profiles, share dating horror stories, and discuss upcoming events we're excited about.
