How would someone who loves you describe you?

Highly creative and artistic, kind, joyful, completely in the sky (I believe ADHD is the accurate term), loyal, passionate, and unusual. I can talk forever about psychology, culture, or existential questions, but I’m equally happy laughing over something ridiculous. My friends would probably describe me as expressive, supra intuitive and perceptive, energetic, curious, and someone who is always looking for beauty and meaning in everyday life.

What sorts of things do you want to do with your friends?

I love deep convos over coffee, art openings, dinner parties, live musics, dog walks, tarot, astrology, UFC, sauna (NO ice plunge for me!), traveling, creative collabs and making things together, whether that’s an art show, a dinner, or a project. I love working on creative ideas with friends who have complementary skills and putting my skills into big projects that need more hands to come to life.

What's something that people might not guess about you?

I'm French and I grew up between different cultures, which is probably why I’m fascinated by contradictions and duality. I’m very outgoing and joyful, but shyer than people initially assume. I love both a vibrant, expansive, adventurous life and quiet time in nature with dogs, upstate, hiking, and meaningful, intentional lifestyle.

Anything else that the Joy List community can help you with?

Art residencies, grants, exhibitions and mural opportunities, creative collabs, introductions to interesting people and projects are all welcome. I'm an artist and creative director, so if you own a business or community space and are interested in artwork, murals, artwork, or artist-made merch, I’d love to chat. I’ve been lucky to collaborate with many NYC people and businesses over the years (Gabriela, Ponyboy, The Roxy, Soho Grand, 100 Sutton etc) and many of my favorite projects started through simple conversations.

Wednesday, June 24: VoicePlay

VoicePlay is a healing group exploration of authentic expression using breath, voice, and embodied play. Explore your embodied expression in this joyful evening of somatic and vocal exploration and experimentation. We will play with vocal improvisation, relaxation of the body, deep listening, traditional somatic practices and connection with the inner sounds waiting to be expressed!

Wednesday, June 24: Astoria Non-Fiction Book Club

Join a new book club for readers of non-fiction, that will meet monthly in Astoria. In June, we're reading "Famesick," the new memoir by Lena Dunham. Super casual: we meet at a cocktail bar, have drinks and snacks, and talk about the book. Def come if you have thoughts on "the Powerpoint" (IYKYK).

Wednesday, June 24: New York Yoga Club Presents: The Touching Grass Tour

New York Yoga Club is proud to announce Touching Grass Tour: a series of free social yoga pop-ups across NYC parks. Yoga Club combines affordable yoga classes with no-phone social events to help people move, unplug, and meet one another. This summer we're partnering with the NYC Parks Dept to tour the city with free outdoor sessions designed to get people off their phones and onto the grass. Check out our calendar for more details!

Founder of social media movement DISRUPT (the anti-Turning Point) Carlos Calzadilla-Palacio goes head to head with the New York Young Republican Club's Sergeant-at-Arms Troy Olsen to discuss two very different worldviews on the matter.

Happy Pride! 🌈 We're back with an extra-special Pride edition of our signature Sapphic event, and we can't wait to celebrate with you at Friends and Lovers. Saturday, June 27: The Quiet Car

We're bringing the experience of the Amtrak quiet car to the subway. No phones allowed! Bring an analog activity (read, write, draw, knit) and let's be quiet together. We'll take over a subway car at the 96th St Q and ride it all the way to Union Square. Arrive at 11 AM to board together.
