The Joy List: March 10

Our New Yorker of the Week today is Avi. He’s 34, lives in Park Slope, and is looking for friends and love. If you’d like to contact him, email [email protected] and share what enchanted you!

If you’d like to be featured next— which you do, I feel it in my bones— then fill out this form.

Now, onto the fun stuff:

How would someone who loves you describe you?

Caring, expressive, passionate, loses things constantly dear god (I am truly grateful to all my friends rescuing my keys, phones, and more over the years)

What sorts of things do you want to do with your friends?

See musicals, write poetry, go dancing, watch science fiction (especially Star Trek), and plot to steal cute dogs in park slope.

What's something that people might not guess about you?

I’m a huge football nerd (I know, it makes no sense with my other interests, but seriously the use of pre snap motion has revolutionized NFL offenses). Oh and I speak Russian fluently (привет!)

Are you looking for love? Tell me about the type of person you're looking for!

I’m looking for love! My pronouns are he/him, I am straight. the traits I’m drawn to the most are compassion, creativity, curiosity and a zest for life!. Won’t hurt if you’re down to see a musical with me and join in on a morning gratitude practice.

Anything else that the Joy List community can help you with?

Looking for inspirations all the time for poems and music. Please send me little ideas or scribbles from your notes and I would love to noodle on it and maybe co create something with you. Or send me a puppy that’s great too.

Spa + Socialize

Jillian, The Joy List founder, here. If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I have recently become obsessed with spas. And of course, that means I occasionally go to Othership— a social sauna with guided sweats and cold plunges. I recommend their socials (without the DJ) if you want to meet people, and the quiet morning sessions if you want to zen out.

I really like the experience, so I asked their team to hook y’all up with promos. Behold:

  1. Get two classes for the price of one if you haven’t been before

  2. Use my code JILLIANRICHARDSON for 11% off any of their packages, from a single class to 50 packs. I recommend their intro package— 2 weeks of daily sauna time for only $120. Since one session is $64, that is a STEAL.

Note: if you tried this code before, it didn’t work. MY BAD. It’s working now!

That's it for this edition. Try something new this week, friends!
